🚧 Upcoming Road Work on Highway 343 Near New High School Site Road improvements are scheduled to begin on June 1 along Highway 343, near the location of the new high school. This project will continue for several weeks and includes widening the roadway and adding new turning lanes to improve long‑term traffic flow and safety.
During construction, drivers should expect periodic traffic delays in the area. Please plan extra travel time and use caution when driving through the work zone.

The Camden County Board of Education will have its regular meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at the Camden County Public Library for various purposes. The Board will hold a closed session at 6:00 p.m. to discuss one or more confidential personnel matters, as allowed by NCGS 143-318.11(a)(1),(3),(5), and (6). The closed session will be followed by an open session at 7:00 p.m. The open session is open to the public in accordance with the North Carolina Open Meetings law. The meeting will be livestreamed.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., Camden County High School and Camden Early College High School will conduct a mock wreck scenario and presentation for juniors and seniors. The event will include multiple wrecked vehicles, emergency personnel from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and Fire Departments, and, weather permitting, the Nightingale helicopter landing in the rear of campus. The Camden County Board of Education will hold a Special Called Meeting to conduct a CTE and Budget work session in the Camden County School Conference Room of Grandy Primary School, located at 175 N.C. Hwy 343, Camden, NC 27921, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, beginning at 5 p.m. Following the work sessions, the Board will hear updates on the construction of the new high school and may consider and approve a fiber contract and a resolution regarding the State budget. The Board may also enter closed session to discuss one or more confidential matters pursuant to NCGS 143-318.11(a)(1), (a)(3), and (a)(6). Due to many roads in the south end of Camden—especially side roads—still covered in ice, Camden County Schools will operate on a remote learning day for students on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Staff: Essential personnel are to report to work on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. All other staff may report in person or work remotely. Supervisors and principals will contact all non-essential personnel.
Students:
Grades K–5:
Continue working on the learning packets sent home last week.
Grades 6–12:
Continue accessing and completing assignments through Canvas.
As a reminder, Camden County Schools' remote work policy states that all work assigned during remote learning days is due three (3) days after we return to school.
