Camden County Schools will dismiss students tomorrow, Friday, September 27, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. due to potential flooding. All after school activities are also canceled for Friday, the 27th.
Football game has been moved to Thursday, September 26th @ 7:00pm.
Due to road conditions and anticipated continued flooding in portions of our county, Camden County Schools will operate on a two hour delay tomorrow morning, Wednesday, September 18, 2024. There may be certain roads that buses cannot go down or that are unsafe for drivers after 10:00 am. In this case, student absences will be excused but please have a parent/guardian contact the school by 12:00 pm tomorrow to let them know.
We were recently made aware of a potential threat against schools with a Camden reference. We have been in communication with the Camden County Sheriff's Department, and at this time, we have no evidence that it is a credible threat, or even a reference to Camden County Schools in North Carolina.
The safety of our students and staff is a priority of Camden County Schools. We are thankful for students and families who support our school system and inform us when they see or hear anything that could potentially impact schools. We encourage you to continue to be vigilant and to communicate any concerns.

The Camden Board of Education will hold a Special Called meeting on Thursday, August 29,
2024 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Camden County Library Meeting Room. The purpose of
the meeting is 1) to hold a closed session to discuss one or more confidential personnel
matters as allowed by N.C.G.S. 143-318.11 (a)(6) and to consult with the Board Attorney
regarding matters protected by the attorney/client privilege and to preserve that privilege as
allowed by N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3); 2) to consider the qualifications for potential firms to
serve as a construction manager at risk for the High School construction project; 3) to take
action in open session to select a construction manager at risk for the high school building
project; and 4) to take personnel actions in open session following the closed session."
Due to potential flooding, any Camden County Schools staff that lives in an area of concern and/or experiences flooding may work with their direct supervisor about reporting to the building on Friday, August 9th.
